hey folks, welcome back! sharing some thoughts from my side of the world:
i’ve been experimenting with a bunch of these one pagers on twitter. curious what you think if you’ve come across them! always thinking of more ideas/topics to cover.
a few angel investments i made recently came out of stealth, cove is building a visual workspace with AI and tildei is rethinking conversational marketing from the ground up. also i’ve been really enjoying using another investment of mine, hero, to sell stuff around the house using AI, let me know if you’d like early access.
in the past week two companies told me they met their co-founders through the next play newsletter! beyond a bunch of people finding jobs, its really cool to see the impact next play is having.
we have next play gatherings coming up in 20+ cities in the next few weeks for people exploring what comes next. grateful to the amazing community of hosts we have taking next play global. I’ll be co-hosting them in SF/NYC, looking forward to visiting again!
my wife and I had a chance to explore Seven Rila Lakes in Bulgaria and Salzburg, Austria. big fan of both, if you ever head there let me know and I’ll send over our favorite spots
launched a student/new grad version of next play called next play on campus where we’re highlighting great internship/new grad opportunities. if you have any student friends, feel free to send this to them: nextplayoncampus.substack.com
i’ve been having a bunch of in-depth conversations on intro, thanks to everyone who’s booked so far!
i signed up for a few surfing classes, always wanted to learn. tried once, did not go well, hopefully this time I can get it.
i just read Hillbilly Elegey for the first time, found it really insightful, learned a lot about a part of america I know nothing about. any books you’ve enjoyed recently? just ordered From Third World to First: The Singapore Story, up next.
sadly won’t make it to Notion’s first IRL conference, Make with Notion, wish I could be there. make sure to RSVP online if you’re a Notion fan.
Shana tova if you’re celebrating!
thanks for following along! join me on twitter and linkedin. I’d love to hear any feedback you may have on this newsletter, feel free to reply directly to this email.
I saw the one pager on my feed and thought it was great. Always looking for clearly designed things that I can run through in a few seconds without my eyes rolling out of the back of my head. simple and all there at one glance
Would love to try hero if you can get access!
